Tour of Britain Cycle Race - through North Elmham 9th September 2012

The UK’s biggest professional cycle race last year brought more than £3m to Norfolk when it held a joint stage with Suffolk and drew an estimated 150,000 people to the roadside across the county.  Now, the two counties have once again been successful in jointly hosting a stage of the event.

The Norfolk and Suffolk leg will kick off this year’s Tour of Britain on Sunday, September 9. Setting off from Ipswich, nearly 100 riders will snake through parts of Suffolk, before arriving into Norfolk.  They will then take in Great Yarmouth, Coltishall, Reepham, Dereham, North Elmham and Easton before finishing at the Norfolk Showground - in time for a food and drink fair as part of the Norfolk Food and Drink Festival.

Whether watching the race, or enjoying the activities at the Showground or elsewhere along the route, Sunday September 9 will be a day to remember for Norfolk.

It's Official!

Olympics 2012

Baby Willows is a 30 minute drive to either Kings Lynn or Norwich, from where you can get to the Olympic site in around 90 minutes by train.  Alternatively take it a bit slower with a coach from Thetford to the Olympic site (approx 3 hours total journey time from Baby Willows).

North Elmham Flower Festival 2012

This is our annual 3 day event held in the village over the August Bank Holiday weekend.  The flower theme for this year is 'Think of a Number'  and they will be on display in the church.  There will be various stalls to browse: books, bric-a-brac, home produce, cakes, raffle prizes, games and refreshments and a chance to ride on a vintage bus.
